DNC Day Two
I didn't watch most of the night - football was on - but I did watch Bill Clinton. He was vintage Clinton - engaging, wonky, and very effective. He gave a full-throated endorsement of President Obama. The only problem I saw was that it went on too long (again, classic Clinton). That said, I think his speech helped Obama.
There is unity and a building up of Obama and his policies that has been taking place the first two days. He just needs to deliver with a strong speech tonight and he could really move the needle in his favor. The Intrade market went over 59 last night - it is now hovering right around 59 (puts the odds of Obama winning at 59% to Romney's 41%.

I thought it was a GREAT speech. I didn't have a problem with the length. What I liked was that he consistently would stop and refocus the audience and tell them to listen carefully and then he would point out the differences between Obama and Romney and he did it very clearly. It wasn't just a rah rah speech. It was directed straight to the audience and it was clear. I really liked that.
The only issue I had with the speech was that about 5 minutes into it, Clinton got a little white build up in the right part of his mouth that lasted the entire speech. It was a little distracting.
His throat seemed a bit dry - he needed to get some water into him earlier in the day and then on stage also.
Yeah, he looked a little "prunish." Looked like Monica had sucked him dry.
His hands were shaking quite a bit too.
